Quilt Patterns
The 6-color pattern is the main pattern with all step-by-step instructions. Additional patterns are addendums, you will need to buy the 6-color pattern to get instructions. The addendums contain size charts with fabric requirements, block assembly diagrams and coloring pages.

Patterns include fabric requirements for the number of precut strips required for each color (or ring) and yardage so that you may cut your own strips.

Patterns are available in 5 to 14-color options for 2.5" strips. Future plans include quilt patterns for 1.5" strips, or "Postage Stamp" variations. Check back often, we'll be adding more photos of completed samples, and more pattern options.
Many Trips: Not Too Scrappy
This is the 6 color, Not Too Scrappy variation. Alternating blocks have the color strips in reverse order. For example, one block will have a Red-Pink-Dk Gray-Lt Gray-Blue-White color order. Note that the adjacent blocks are Red-White-Blue-Lt Gray-Dk Gray-Pink. This design allows for an even number of strips for each color, and equal yardage requirements for each color. It allows you to audition and change the color order after you buy your fabric, or make better use of the jelly roll bundles that have a set number of strips in each color. This quilt used a fabric collection, Poetry by 3 Sisters (Moda Fabrics). A variety of whites were used from this collection, a variety of dark grays, etc. The "Not too scrappy" becomes less scrappy if one print in each color is chosen, such as the 12 color quilt below.
Color/Size Relationships
The quilts are constructed of 2.5" strips, so the finished size of each individual square is 2". The number of colors, or "rings" will impact the quilt size. A 6-color quilt will have a basic block 24" by 24". A 12-color quilt will have a basic block that is 48" by 48". You can make a king size quilt out of both, the 12-color quilt will have fewer blocks but larger rings. The 12-color block is pictured here, and this is one basic block with a border strip to round out the pattern. The finished size is 50" by 50". This quilt uses the same print in each ring, but has 3 similar colored rings adjacent to create wide bands of color.
Note: Please excuse the wrinkles in this quilt top! My daughter and her boyfriend carried this around Honolulu in the back of their car, taking photos for me with various scenic backdrops. This photo under the Banyon trees at Iolani Palace was just too special not to use, wrinkles and all.
