I fell in love with the Lady Bird fabric collection by Crystal Manning before I fell in love with Texas in April, but after traveling through Texas hill country while the bluebonnets were in bloom, I can say that I've seen the inspiration for that fabric collection. Lady Bird, the wife of former president Lyndon B. Johnson started an initiative to plant wildflowers on Texas highways. Her legacy continues and has inspired festivals, road trips and art. I was in Texas for work last week and I was able to see these blooms during their peak season.
